Halloween costume = decided.
Hopefully this year I’ll provide more than 2 hours before I go out on Halloween for prep time.
This happened a while ago but I couldn’t post till now. 1 of 4 spots I did for Jay-Z’s new record, The Blueprint III. This one was for the first single, “D.O.A.” about auto-tune and its imminent fate. Thanks to Corey Fontana for killin it on the camera.

Now THAT is how you shoot/color-grade a band performance. This is really terrific.
This is really great. Whatever happens with this Jay-Z record, the promo material has been exceptional.

I often fantasize about what it would have been like to go to the Old Penn Station before it was demolished in 1963. Is that weird?
I think this is really great and not because I’m the biggest Metallica fan. Just awesome use of mixed-media coverage of possibly the most boring performance location for a band - the rehearsal studio. The 16mm is great with the wide angle digital stuff, the b/w is used sparingly, no slo-mo, nothing out of sync and they totally show process. It’s guys in a room shooting guys in a room but they have some great moments. Put this in context of the record release and the public knowing them as metal gods, to have something intimate like this must have felt really engaging for the fan. Just sayin’…
I was supposed to do a video with these guys a while back but it never came be. Alas, still love this song.
